The Summer Co-op in Economics is designed to provide Economics students with work experience related to their studies. This optional program is available to full-time undergraduate students in the Department of Economics (main campus only), Faculty of Social Science, who are enrolled in Year 3 and returning in the fall to continue into Year 4 of the Honors Specialization in Economics or a double Major with one of the Majors in Economics. Students must have a minimum average in Economics of (1) 75% with no grade in Economics less than 60% in the second year of one of the above modules; and, (2) 75% with no grade in Economics less than 60% in the first term of the third year of one of the above modules. Students may use 2100 level Economics courses to gain admission to the modules listed, but the average among these courses must be at least 75% with no grade less than 70%. Students interested in this Co-op must apply online by the deadlines specified by the Department of Economics. Students who accept a summer placement will receive a notation on their transcript ( Economics 4499) and a pass/fail grade will be recorded. An administrative fee will be charged for a successful placement.
