Application to First Year Dentistry
Application for admission to first year must be made by completing the official on-line application form available from the admissions page of the school website, www.schulich.uwo.ca/dentistry/. The application deadline is December 1 for entry the following September. Original supporting documents must be received no later than December 1. Academic documents not ordered through the on-line application form should be mailed to: Office of the Registrar, Professional Admissions - Dentistry, Room 160, Stevenson-Lawson Building, The University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario N6A 5B8.
First year applicants who have completed professional programs or who are enrolled in courses preparing them for professional vocations other than Dentistry must submit with their application a letter giving the reasons for their desire to enter Dentistry.
Applicants who have never been registered at The University of Western Ontario must:
- request official transcripts be forwarded to The University of Western Ontario, Registrar's Office, from all universities, colleges and other institutions of post-secondary education that the student has attended. These must be received by the application due date: December 1.
- if applicable, request that upon completion, an official transcript of their current academic year be forwarded to the Registrar's Office at The University of Western Ontario.
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the necessary transcripts or reports, for the current academic year, have been received by Western's Registrar's Office no later than June 15. Although the Admissions Committee will act on non-official reports any decisions bearing on acceptance must await receipt of the confirmatory transcripts.
Candidates with acceptable standing at accredited degree-granting institutions may be considered for admission provided that the content of studies completed is equivalent in content to the courses offered by Western, and to the requirements of the program to which the student has applied. The university will review other candidates on an individual basis. Admission in all cases is competitive.
Application to Second Year
Application for admission to second year (advanced standing) must be made by completing the official application form accessible from the admissions page of the Schulich Dentistry website: www.schulich.uwo.ca/dentistry/admissions_yr2.html. The application deadline for potential entry into the program at the second year level is July 1 for entry in the September of the same year.
