A university degree in medicine does not give the right to practice medicine. It is necessary to conform to the laws pertaining to the practice of medicine in the province, state or country in which it is proposed to practice. To practice in any part of Canada one must pass the licensing examinations of The Medical Council of Canada, and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Information relative to additional or alternative training requirements for licence to practice in any province should be obtained from the Registrar of the licensing body of that province.
