Admission Requirements
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including VAS 1020 or 1025 and VAH 1040, plus 1.0 additional course, with
no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

Students admitted to VAS 1020 must submit a portfolio of work for approval upon successful completion of the course.

Students seeking admission to VAS 1025 directly from high school must submit a portfolio of their studio work for Department assessment as part of the University admission process. Students who are accepted and who successfully complete the course will receive advance admission to the BFA program without need of a portfolio review at the end of the course.

Note - Acceptance into the Advanced Foundation Studio (VAS 1025) effectively enables pre-admission into the BFA program stream, provided the course is completed with a minimum 70% average. Students from the existing VAS 1020 stream may still enter the BFA program provided they have met the 70% minimum average in that course and have submitted a portfolio successfully towards the end of the second term of the course.

An average of 70% with no mark less than 60% in VAS courses must be maintained for progression.
