Unlimited One-year Admission Scholarships: $1,500 to $2,000
If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident coming from highschool with a final admission average of 85 per cent or greater, and registering for full-time studies, you are guaranteed a scholarship worth at least $1,500. As your average increases, so does your scholarship. If your average is 90 per cent or better, you get $2000, guaranteed, just for enroling at Western.
The National Scholarship Program: up to $30,000
If you qualify for one of these prestigious scholarships, you could be awarded up to $33,000 over 4 years. Outstanding academic performance, creative and innovative thought and exceptional achievement in extra-curricular activities are rewarded through the National Scholarship Program.
A high school principal nomination is required along with an application form and an essay. Qualified students will be interviewed by Western's selection committee, at the University's expense. Check with your guidance office for more information and an application form or contact us directly. The deadline is Februrary 14.
Unlimited Continuing Admission Scholarships: $10,000
Students in Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Information and Media Studies, Health Sciences, Science and Social Science with a mid to high 90% final admission average can obtain a four-year continuing scholarships worth $10,000. That's $2,500 for each of your four years at Western!
Music continuing admission scholarships are not automatic and are determined by the faculty.
Other Entrance Awards
Each faculty and many departments also offer entrance scholarships and awards. These have been established by the University, alumni, individuals and corporations to recognize the achievements of Western's students and range in value from $100 to $2,000 plus.
Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents coming from highschool to be eligible for an admission scholarship or award, and apply to Western's main campus for full-time first-year studies. Eligibility is based on your final average as calculated for admission purposes. International students are now eligible for some limited first year scholarships as well as upper year scholarships.
