HONORS GEOGRAPHY WITH OPTIONS
Geography may be combined with options in Anthropology, Economics, English, Film Studies, French, German, Greek, History, Latin, Philosophy, Political Science, Russian, Sociology, Spanish, or Visual Arts. Similarly, it is possible to combine another principal subject with Geography options. Students will be counselled by the Geography and the other participating department regarding appropriate course programs. Please initiate your discussions with the Department of Geography.
Admission Requirements
First year program in Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Science, or Social Science with Geography 020E and two other full-course equivalents as principal courses, one of which must satisfy admission requirements of the Department of the second subject.
Program
After the first year, the program must include the eight honors-level Geography full-course equivalents, six honors full-course equivalents in the other principal subject, and one full or equivalent subsidiary course. Students' course selections must be approved by both departments. Normally, students in each of second and third years enrol in three Honors Geography full-course equivalents, and in two full-course equivalents in the other principal subject. In the fourth year, students enrol in two Geography full course equivalents, two full course equivalents in the other subject, and in one subsidiary full course equivalent. Geography 201a/b, 237a/b, 242a/b, and 280a/b are mandatory in second year. Geography 301a/b and 343y are mandatory in third year. Geography 448a/b is mandatory in fourth year.
