HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN MEDIA AND THE PUBLIC INTEREST (MPI)
Enrolment in all modules in Media and the Public Interest is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to enter any Module in Media and the Public Interest will be offered enrolment.
Admission Requirements
Completion of second-year requirements in the Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT) program with an average of at least 72% and no failures.
Module
2.5 courses required in second year: MIT 201F/G, 202F/G, 203a/b, 204F/G, Writing 121F/G 1.0 courses: MIT 301a/b, 302F/G 0.5 course from: MIT 430F/G - 439F/G 1.5 courses: MPI 390F/G, 391F/G, 490F/G 1.0 course from a designated range of "MPI appropriate" MIT courses, e.g., MIT 247F/G, 248F/G, 255F/G, 264F/G, 320F/G, 325F/G, 350F/G, 351F/G, and special offerings as available 1.5 additional courses in MIT at the 200 level or above* 1.0 course from: Social Justice and Peace Studies 200E, 300F, 301G, 400E (offered by King’s University College)
* A maximum of 1.5 courses at the 200 level or above may be substituted from other offerings relevant to the study of media and the public interest. Specific examples of such courses are available from the MIT Undergraduate Academic Advisor. Such courses must be approved by the MIT Undergraduate Academic Advisor in consultation with the Associate Dean.
