Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses selected from the following 4.0 required courses:

Physics 020 or 024 or 026 or (028a/b plus 029a/b);
Calculus 050a/b and (Calculus 051a/b or 081a/b) or Applied Mathematics 026;
Biology 022 or 023;
Chemistry 020 or 023.

The minimum mark in each principal course is 60%.

9.0 courses:

0.5 course: Biochemistry 280a
1.0 course: Chemistry 213a/b, 223b
3.5 courses: Physics 208, 222a/b, 309a/b, 409a/b, 491E
4.0 courses from: Applied Mathematics 261b, Astronomy 121a/b, Biochemistry 381a, 385a, 386b, Biology 281b, 282b, 283a, Calculus 250a/b or 280a/b, 251a/b or 281a/b, Chemistry 211a/b, 214a/b, 223b, 272F, 320a/b, 364a/b, Medical Biophysics 302E, 303E, 330F, 331G, Physics 201a/b, 202a/b, 210a/b, 259E, 308a/b, 343a/b, 408a/b, 472a/b, Physiology 130, 312 or the former 310, 314a.
