FOUR-YEAR BSc HONORS CHEMISTRY

Admission Requirements

Entry into the 4-year honors degree program occurs at the beginning of the third year and requires that the student has completed the second year of the Chemistry program with an average mark of at least 70% in the three senior chemistry courses (251, 253 and 254) with no mark less than 60% in these. In addition, the student must have completed Applied Mathematics 290a, or the former Applied Mathematics 281a with a mark of at least 60%. Students who do not meet these criteria may be allowed to proceed into the third year of the Honors Chemistry program only with the special permission of the Department. Subsidiary Courses

Applied Mathematics 291b, or the former Applied Mathematics 282b
A number of options elected to attain a total of five courses. Other Chemistry courses may be included

Fourth Year

Principal Courses

Chemistry 490
Eight Chemistry half-courses at the 300- or 400-level (with a maximum of two at the 300-level)
With special permission from the Department of Chemistry, one or two Chemistry half-courses may be replaced by other 300- or 400-level courses offered by the Faculty of Science
