UPGRADING
To enter fourth-year Honors Political Science after completion of a three-year BA, a student must meet the following requirements: - 60% or better in Political Science 020E,
- at least four senior (100- or 200-level) Political Science full-course equivalents.
- no mark less than 75% in any 100-level Political Science course to be credited (to a maximum of three) and no mark less than 70% in any 200-level Political Science course.
- no mark less than 60% in any non Political Science course.
Note 1:
- for students moving from the general to the honors program a maximum of three, 100-level full-course equivalents in Political Science can be credited as honors equivalents, provided that a mark of 75% is obtained in each 100-level Political Science course being counted.
- The requirements to enter the honors program in Political Science after the completion of the three-year BA degree are identical to the requirements to enter the honors program after the completion of the third year of the general program. To graduate, all program and graduation requirements for the honors degree in Political Science must be completed.
Note 2:
- Students who have completed a three-year degree from another university will be required to complete at least 10 full-course equivalents from The University of Western Ontario and fulfill the program and graduation requirements for an honors degree in Political Science.
Note 3:
- Students who have completed a four-year degree in a discipline other than Political Science should consult the Department for information regarding admission to the honors program. Students will normally be required to complete all program and graduation requirements for the honors program in Political Science.
