THREE-YEAR BSc STATISTICS (EFFECTIVE 2001-02)


Admission Requirements

A complete first year program including Statistical Sciences 023a/b*, Linear Algebra 040a/b, and one full course or equivalent, chosen from: Calculus 050a/b and either Calculus 051a/b (minimum mark of 60%) or Calculus 081a/b (minimum mark of 85%**), or a minimum mark of 60% in Applied Mathematics 026.

*If Statistical Sciences 023a/b and Linear Algebra 040a/b are not taken in first year, they must be completed before the start of third year.

**Students who completed Calculus 081a/b prior to September 2003 may enter this program with a minimum mark of 70% in Calculus 081a/b.


Second Year

Statistical Sciences 257a
Either Statistical Sciences 259a/b plus 260b or the former 258b, or the former Statistical Sciences 255.
Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b
One-half course from the following: Actuarial Science 223a, Applied Mathematics 213b, 261b, Differential Equations 215a, Mathematics 283b.
Two course options**

**Must complete Statistical Sciences 023a/b and Linear Algebra 040a/b prior to the beginning of third year, each with a minimum mark of at least 60%.


Third Year

Three courses in Statistical Sciences numbered 310 and above. Students can use up to one Actuarial Science course for this requirement (including Actuarial Science 153).
Two course options

The Area of Concentration will consist of the 6.0 senior-level courses which are specified in second and third year.
