Note: the Specialization in Gender and Women's Studies is jointly offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Faculty of Social Science through the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies.
Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses: GSWS 1020E, or any two of GSWS 1021F/G, GSWS 1022F/G, GSWS 1023F/G, GSWS 1024F/G, and GSWS 1030F/G, plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.
Students beginning Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies after first year may substitute GSWS 2240F/G or the former Women's Studies 2250E in place of GSWS 1020E and take it concurrently with their second-year courses.

0.5 course: GSWS 3320F/G.
0.5 course: GSWS 3173F/G, GSWS 3324F/G, GSWS 3325F/G, or GSWS 3326F/G.
1.0 course in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at the 2000 level or above.
4.5 courses in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at the 2200 level or above.
1.0 courses in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at the 3000 level or above.
0.5 course in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at the 4000 level.
A student may apply to the Department for approval to substitute up to 2.0 courses from another department provided that the courses are relevant to the student's Specialization in Gender and Women's Studies.
