CERTIFICATE IN REFUGEES, MIGRATION AND FORCED DISPLACEMENT
Social Justice and Peace Studies
This program is designed for students currently enrolled at the University. The Certificate in Refugees, Migration and Forced Displacement is designed to provide students with an understanding of the policy landscape, theories and methodologies for studying refugees, migration and forced displacement. It includes experiential learning opportunities for students to learn first-hand in the field, and offers opportunities for social innovation and strategies for community integration. All degree courses may be credited toward other undergraduate programs. Any undergraduate student may apply for admission, subject to prerequisites and general admission requirements.
Admission Requirements
Enrolment in third or fourth year of an Honours Program, or a minimum modular average of 70% in a Major module. This is a limited enrolment program and possession of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
Module/Program Information
To qualify for the Certificate in Refugees, Migration and Forced Displacement, students must achieve an overall average of 65% in the following 5.0 courses:
2.5 courses: Social Justice and Peace Studies 1025F/G, Social Justice and Peace Studies 1026F/G, Social Justice and Peace Studies 2304F/G, Social Justice and Peace Studies 3500E.
2.5 courses from: Social Justice and Peace Studies 2302A/B, Social Justice and Peace Studies 2303A/B, Social Justice and Peace Studies 3210F/G, Social Justice and Peace Studies 3211F/G, Social Justice and Peace Studies 3367F/G, Religious Studies 2351F/G. A maximum of 1.0 course from the following courses may be counted toward this requirement: History 2201E, Social Work 3344A/B, Sociology 2232, Sociology 3318F/G, Political Science 2218F/G and Political Science 3302F/G.
