MEDIEVAL LITERATURE AND CULTURE


Study the renaissance of the 12th century which revitalized intellectual life in Europe, and the first great works of chivalry and romantic love in their cultural context. Gain knowledge of medieval castle architecture, fashion, food, travel, medicine, sexuality, courtly love, and the hunt in text and image.

Antirequisite(s): The former German 4451F/G.

Prerequisite(s): World Literatures and Cultures 1030, or CLC 1010, or CLC 1040 or CLC 1050E, or Medieval Studies 1022, Medieval Studies 1025A/B or Medieval Studies 1026A/B or permission of the Department. Pre-or Corequisite(s): CLC 2200F/G, CLC 3300F/G, or permission of the Department.
