Individuals registered for credit courses at Western provide the basis for claims by Western for funding from the Ministry of Education and Training (MET). All claims are subject to audit procedures defined by MET and by Western's external and internal auditors. Part of the audit process requires that all credit students be formally adjudicated for admission in accordance with current Senate approved policies. Therefore, a UWO Faculty member who wishes to register in a credit course must complete an application for admission and provide the necessary documentation, as stipulated by Senate policy and required by the auditors, in order for the University to retain eligibility for claim purposes. Although such formalities may be viewed as an inconvenience by some Faculty, this matter has been reviewed by the Senate Subcommittee on Admissions (SUA) and the admission process for faculty members has been reaffirmed.
