The HBA program is positioned among the world's leaders in business education. The first two years of the 4-year honors program in buisness administration provides students with a general education in the arts and humanities, social or natural sciences. During the second two years, students are enrolled in the HBA program to develop and build skills and knowledge in each of the major fields in buisness.

Through the use of the case method, Ivey provides students with the leadership essentials every manager needs to know to pursue a career path in any role, in any industry, and in any place around the world. These leadership essentials include the ability to make and defend decisions in the midst of uncertainty; to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and oral; to contribute to projects and to present your ideas; to be a productive team member and leader; to handle a huge workload and pressure; and to contribute to proects and present your ideas.
