MAJOR IN ASTROPHYSICS


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including the following courses each with a mark of at least 60%:

Physics 020 or 024 or 026;
Calculus 050a/b and 051a/b (preferred) or 081a/b, or Applied Mathematics 026.

Students must complete Linear Algebra 040a/b with a minimum mark of 55% by the end of term one in year 2.


Module

6.0 courses:

1.5 courses: Astronomy 201a/b or the former Astronomy 221a/b, 202a/b or the former Astronomy 222a/b, 302a/b
1.0 course: Calculus 250a/b (preferred) or Calculus 280a/b, 251a/b (preferred) or Calculus 281a/b
0.5 course: Differential Equations 215a
2.0 courses: Physics 201a/b, 202a/b, 259E
1.0 course from: Applied Mathematics 261b, Physics 326F/G, 369F/G/Z

Students must also complete Physics 279y, 379y (non-credit seminar courses).
Note: A minimum mark of 85% is required in Calculus 081a/b to take Calculus 250a/b.
