DIPLOMA IN TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION
Open to students who have completed an undergraduate degree, the Diploma in Technical and Professional Communication aims to develop students’ writing abilities in workplace writing genres. Anyone with a university degree may apply for admission, subject to prerequisites and general University entrance requirements. A student who does not yet possess a university degree may apply for admission to the Certificate in Technical and Professional Communication, which can be taken concurrently with an undergraduate degree.
Admission Requirements
A grade of at least 65% in Writing 111F/G: Introduction to Professional Writing is required for entrance to the program.
Program Requirements
To qualify for the Diploma in Technical and Professional Communication, students must attain an average of 70% in these 3.5 courses:
0.5 required course: Writing 299F/G 3.0 courses from: Speech 143, Writing 203F/G, 205F/G, 207F/G, 209F/G, 210F/G, 212F/G, 291F/G, 292F/G, 293F/G. A list of other approved courses is available from the Writing Program office.
