MAJOR IN GERMAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements, including 1.0 course from German 030, 030w/x, 200 or 200w/x (or the former German 002, 002w/x, 020 or 020w/x) with a mark of at least 60%. Students who take German 030 or 030w/x in first year will normally take German 200 or 200w/x concurrently with their second year courses.


Module

6.0 courses:

1.0 course to be taken in second year: German 250E
0.5 course normally taken in third year: German 205F/G
4.5 German language and literature courses at the 200 level or above

Notes: With permission of the Department, German 100F/G and German 101F/G with a minimum mark of 80% can be counted toward the Major in German Language and Literature.
Students planning to take third year of the module abroad who are taking German as one of two Majors will need the permission of both departments.
