HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN GERMAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE


Admission Requirements

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including German 200 or 200w/x (or 030 or 030w/x or the former German 002, 002w/x, 020 or 020w/x) plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%. Students who take German 030 or 030w/x in the first year will normally take German 200 or 200w/x concurrently with their second year courses.


Module

9.0 courses:

1.0 course required in second year: German 250E
1.0 German language course at the 200 level (German 292a/b, 293a/b, 294) or, as recommended by the Department, at the 300 level
0.5 course required in third year: German 205F/G
6.5 additional German courses at the 200 or 300 level. With permission of the Department, German 100F/G and/or German 101F/G with a minimum mark of 80% can be counted for up to 1.0 of these courses
