APPLICATION PROCEDURE
To apply for admission, the applicant should arrange to send the following documents to the relevant program in one application package. - A completed Application Form (available from the graduate program). [Certain programs have a web-based application, for information see www.uwo.ca/grad.]
- Two official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate studies. The transcripts should be in envelopes sealed by the issuing institution. Some institutions will not provide transcripts in sealed envelopes. In this case, the applicant must complete a transcript label (enclosed in the application package) and instruct each institution to attach the label to his or her record and forward it directly to the appropriate program.
- Two letters of recommendation in sealed and signed envelopes.
- Official proof of proficiency in English, if required.
- Any other documents required by the particular program, such as GRE test results or samples of scholarly work.
Many programs require a non-refundable application fee to accompany the application. Applicants should check with the program concerned for details.
No application will be considered until it is complete. The responsibility rests with the applicant to ensure that all documents (e.g., transcripts, letters of recommendation, test results such as TOEFL scores, GRE scores) are submitted by the program's deadline for application. Completed applications are evaluated by the program, which then makes recommendations concerning admission to the Dean of Graduate Studies. The Faculty of Graduate Studies sends the official "Offer of Admission" to the applicant, although individual programs may send provisional offers.
