Sociology 020 or 021E with a mark of 60% or better, the former Sociology 230 or 240E or 270a/b and 271a/b; 231; plus at least one of Sociology 232E, 233, 234E, 237 (or the former 236) or 239; plus two additional senior Sociology courses. Sociology 231 is required in second year. For courses listed a and b, consult the Sociology Department to determine in which term(s) these courses are offered. Three-year students will be admitted to all honors courses below the 400-level. It is expected that Sociology majors will take their principal courses at Western: Sociology 240E, 270a/b, 271a/b, 231 (or the former 230), 232E, 233 or 234E, 237, 239.
It is strongly recommended that students complete at least a half-course in Mathematics before registering in Sociology 231. The mathematics can be one of the following or their equivalents: a secondary school mathematics credit or, at university, Mathematics 012a/b or 017a/b.
