ACADEMIC AWARDS AND BURSARIES

ADMISSION SCHOLARSHIPS

An admission scholarship is an award made for academic excellence to a first- year student.

  1. All students with high academic standing are eligible.
  2. Applicants to whom Scholarships are awarded must register for a full year's work as described by the program, generally a minimum of five courses. To retain the privilege of continuing scholarships, recipients must maintain a required degree of proficiency in each year of their academic program.
  3. The Admission Scholarships listed below are not tenable in the affiliated colleges (Huron, Brescia and King's College). Students registered in affiliated colleges are eligible for the Queen Elizabeth Scholarships.
  4. Admission Scholarships are limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
  5. Applications are not required unless otherwise stated.

ONE-YEAR ADMISSION SCHOLARSHIPS

For all students offered one-year scholarships:

  1. Conditional offers of one-year admission scholarships will be made on mid-year admission averages.
  2. Applicants who are informed they will receive a one-year admission scholarship will be required to maintain a final admission average within the relevant average band in order to have the offer of the scholarship confirmed.
  3. If an applicant's final admission average is below or above the range for the initial award offered, a revised offer will be issued for the appropriate scholarship's value.

Notes:

  1. University Admission Scholarships to the Faculty of Music are awarded to applicants on the basis of high academic achievement and on high musical potential demonstrated by the audition. Additional Faculty of Music awards and scholarships for which entering students may be eligible are listed in the PROFESSIONAL FACULTIES AND SCHOOLS.
  2. Students whose admission into first-year programs offered by the Faculties of Arts, Science, and Social Science has been deferred by the Registrar's Office for one year may have their Admission Scholarship deferred for one year also upon application to the Senate Scholarship Committee.
