Introduction to fracture mechanics in brittle and ductile solids. Measurement of fracture toughness. Microstructural effects in fracture processes. Fatigue, creep failure and environmentally influenced crack propagation in a variety of materials. |

| Prerequisites: Applied Mathematics 275 or 276 or 277 or permission of the Department. |
