Prerequisite(s): Hebrew 003a/b and Hebrew 004a/b, or OAC Hebrew or permission of the instructor based on Placement Test.

Hebrew 030, Hebrew 1
Description: An introduction to oral and written modern Hebrew for students with little or no previous knowledge of the language. Prepares students for direct progression to Hebrew 200 Hebrew 2.
Antirequisite(s): The former Hebrew 005, the former ICS 005. Students with Grade 12U Hebrew or OAC Hebrew must consult the Dean of Arts and Social Science at Huron University College before registering for this course.

Hebrew 040a/b, Introduction to Biblical Hebrew
Description: An introduction to the writing system and grammar of Biblical Hebrew for those with no previous knowledge of the language. Special attention will be paid to the noun, adjective, and participle.
Antirequisite(s): Hebrew 030 or Grade 4 Hebrew (or Grade 2 in Israel); the former Hebrew 003a/b.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of the instructor based on Placement Test.

Description: Continuation of Hebrew 040a/b. An introduction to the grammar of Biblical Hebrew for those with little previous knowledge of the language. Special attention will be paid to forms of the verb.
Antirequisite(s): Hebrew 030 or Grade 6 Hebrew (or Grade 3 in Israel); the former Hebrew 004a/b.
Prerequisite(s): Hebrew 040a/b, the former Hebrew 003a/b, or permission of the Instructor.

Description: This course is designed to build upon skills in reading and speaking modern Hebrew, developed in earlier courses. Students will gain increased vocabulary, and a greater understanding of more complex grammatical structures.
Antirequisite(s): The former Hebrew 025.
Prerequisite(s): Hebrew 030 or the former Hebrew 005, or Grade 12U Hebrew or equivalent.
