THREE-YEAR BSc STATISTICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE - TRANSITION PROGRAM

For students who entered this program before September 2001.


Admission Requirements

A complete first year program that includes the following courses, with a minimum mark of 60% in each: Computer Science 025a/b or 026a/b, and 027a/b; one full-course equivalent, chosen from the following: Calculus 050a/b and either Calculus 051a/b (minimum mark of 60%) or Calculus 081a/b (minimum mark of 70%), or Applied Mathematics 026; Statistical Sciences 023a/b *


Second Year
Statistical Sciences 259a/b and one of 260b or the former 258a/b
Statistical Sciences 257a
Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b, or equivalent (See Department for equivalents)
If Linear Algebra 040a/b was completed previously, one of Applied Mathematics 213b, 261b, Differential Equations 215a, Mathematics 200a/b or the former 203b, 283b, 227b, or 207a/b must be taken in its place

*** The former Applied Mathematics 212a or the former Mathematics 202a can be substituted for the former Applied Mathematics 214a/b if Linear Algebra 040a/b has not been taken.

Third Year

    Mathematics 222a

    Either Computer Science 209a/b or 212a/b/y, whichever was not taken in second year

    Four half-courses in Computer Science numbered 300 or above

    Four half-courses in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences numbered 310 and above, with no more than two half courses in Actuarial Science


Notes
* If Statistical Sciences 023a/b is not taken in first year, students should consult with a department counsellor in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences prior to entering second year.

The Area of Concentration will consist of the 10.0 senior-level courses which are specified in second and third year.
