THREE-YEAR BSc ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Admission Requirements

The program in first year must include Biology 022 or 023, and Chemistry 020 or 023, each with a mark of at least 60%, and Mathematics 030 or any two of the following: Calculus 050a/b, 051a/b, 081a/b, 091a/b, Mathematics 028a/b, Linear Algebra 040a/b, Statistical Sciences 024a/b. It is to the student's advantage to include Geography 020E and/or the former Earth Sciences 020 or equivalent, (see note) in the first year.
Note: Courses equivalent to the former Earth Sciences 020 are any two of Earth Sciences 081a/b, 083F/G, 281b, or the former 082a/b, 085a/b.

Students may enter the third year of the program from second year of another program if they have already fulfilled, with a 60% average, all but five courses of the graduation requirements, and possess the proper prerequisites for the remaining courses in the Environmental Science program.

For certain courses listed below, students are advised that the necessary prerequisites are not contained in the Groups and are not part of the program requirements; thus, programs should be planned carefully.

Admission and Transfer Credit for Graduates of Confederation College

Up to 7.0 transfer credits will be granted for students who have completed, since 1996, a three-year Environmental Engineering Technology diploma from Confederation College with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 as calculated by UWO's Admission Office, and have no mark less than a "C" in the corresponding courses. Please contact the Dean's Office in the Faculty of Science by June 1st for further details.

Admission and Transfer Credit for Graduates of Fanshawe College

Up to 9.0 transfer credits will be granted for students who have completed either a three-year Science Laboratory Technology or an Environmental Engineering Techology diploma from Fanshawe College with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7, and have no mark less than a "C" in the corresponding courses. Only students from Fanshawe College who were admitted to U.W.O. prior to September 2004 are eligible for this program.
