SOCIOLOGY CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Note: Effective September 2004, only students continuing in 'old' degree programs may register in the Certificate in Community Development. These students may be admitted until September 2007 with the understanding that they must complete the certificate program prior to September 2008. The Certificate program will be withdrawn and all registration discontinued effective October 2008. The Certificate in Community Development is offered through the Department of Sociology at Brescia University College. Students may pursue the Certificate concurrently with their degree program. All Community Development courses may count towards the student's undergraduate program. This program is comprised of required courses, including a practicum course, equivalent to three courses, and two optional courses to be selected from an approved interdisciplinary list. Students may pursue the Certificate concurrently with their degree program. All courses may count towards the students' undergraduate degree.
Admission Requirements
Limited enrolment based on completion of at least 2 years toward a BA in Sociology or a related social science, with a minimum overall average of 70% in the year previous to the one in which the Certificate Program is taken.
Progression Requirements
Students must obtain an average of 70% in the required courses, with no course under 60%.
