A mark of at least 60% in one of English 020E, 022E, or 024E. Students should consult with the Department prior to admission.

After first year, students must complete 5.0 full-course equivalents in English, as follows:
1.0 course: English 232E
1.0 course from: English 138E, 160E, 274E, 374E
1.0 course from English 133E, 171F/G, 172F/G, 209E. English 133E is recommended for teaching Primary to Intermediate grades and English 209E for Intermediate to Senior levels.
2.0 additional essay courses in English at the 100 or 200 level. Students may include Writing 101F/G or equivalent in this category, and are advised to do so.
