INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE STUDIES COMBINED HONORS PROGRAM
This program is available only to students registered at Huron University College. Approved combinations: Economics, English, French, History, Media, Information & Technoculture, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology and Scholar's Electives.
Admission Requirements
Completion of five full-course equivalents in Arts or Social Science with three courses as principal courses. The principal courses must include International and Comparative Studies 020E and those specified as first year requirements in the other subject in the combined honors program. Admission to second year requires a grade of not less than 60% in International and Comparative Studies 020E, an average of at least 70% in three principal courses including International and Comparative Studies 020E and no grade less than 60% in any Arts or Social Science course. Students should note the language requirement for graduation in this program when selecting courses. After first year the combined honors program requires six honors courses from each subject in the combined honors program (an exception is Psychology where seven honors courses are required) plus three approved options. Normally students enrol in five courses per year including two honors ICS courses and two honors courses from the participating subject plus one option. All honors courses from the participating subjects are considered principal courses for the purpose of determining progression and graduation. The principal courses for the other Department participating in the Combined Honors program must be selected from the relevant lists in the COMBINED HONORS PROGRAMS section of the Calendar, or under the relevant Department in the Huron University College section of the Calendar.
Language Requirement for Graduation
Students graduating with a BA in Combined Honors International and Comparative Studies must demonstrate an engagement with language. The ICS language requirement can be met in any one of the following ways:
two full course equivalent courses with progression from one level to the next (e.g., 00-level to 020-level or 020-level to 200-level) in any language other than English
or
two full course equivalent language courses in different languages(other than English) at any level
or
by demonstrating competence in a language other than English Students are permitted to use language courses numbered 200 and above to meet program requirements where appropriate.

The former International and Comparative Studies 200E History 210E or Political Science 231E Two full course equivalents from the courses in Groups A and B, at least one of which must be from Group A International and Comparative Studies 301F/G One full course equivalent in International and Comparative Studies at the 400-level One additional half course in International and Comparative Studies at the 200 level or above

Notes
The same course may not be counted toward the total number of courses required for graduation in both subjects in a Combined Honors program. With the permission of the Dean of Arts and Social Science, courses other than those listed may be counted toward fulfilment of program requirements.
BA IN HONORS INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE STUDIES
