FOUR-YEAR BSc HONORS BIOLOGY
Admission Requirements
Completion of the requirements for a Three-Year BSc in Biology with the general prerequisites for entrance into honors programs in the Biological Sciences.
Fourth Year
Five full course equivalents at the 300 level or above, selected from the Biology and Basic Medical Science Departments involved in the Biology Program, including at least 1.5 courses with a laboratory component. A minimum of 3.0 courses must be selected from the Department of Biology, and 1.5 of these courses must be chosen from the following: Biology 407G (the former Plant Sciences 407b), 408G (formerly Plant Sciences 408b), Biology 410F/G, Biology 411F/G, Biology 420F/G, Biology 423F/G (formerly Zoology 423F/G), 436G (formerly Zoology 436G), 438G (formerly Zoology 438b), 440G (formerly Zoology 440b), 441F (formerly Zoology 441a), 443G (formerly Zoology 453b), 450F/G (formerly Plant Sciences 450a or Zoology 450a/b), 457Z (formerly Zoology 420y), 458Z (the former Zoology 421y), 459F (formerly Zoology 444a), 461F (formerly Genetics 413b), 499E, 491E or the former Biology 434G, 451F/G. Notes: 1) A maximum of 1.0 courses at the 200-level may only be included in an Honors Biology Program if they complement the 300- and 400-level courses selected. The inclusion of 200-level courses is subject to the approval of the program coordinator(s). 2) Many 400 level Biology courses require the completion of 1.5 Biology courses at the 300 level or above. All proposed Honors Biology programs must be approved by the Honors Biology Coordinator(s) prior to registration.
