FOUR-YEAR BMSc HONORS PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY
Admission Requirements
Completion of the BMSc requirements for years 1 and 2 (Faculty of Science) plus year 3 of the BMSc General program or the requirements for the 3 year BSc in Biology. Physics 020, 024 or 028a/b and 029a/b or the former Physics 022 or 025 Mathematics 030, or Calculus 050a/b plus one of the following: Calculus 051a/b or 081a/b, Linear Algebra 040a/b, Mathematics 028a/b, Statistical Sciences 024a/b Biochemistry 280a (formerly Biology 280a), Physiology 312 (or the former Physiology 310; or the former Biology 310), 314a, Pharmacology and Toxicology 355a/b, 356a/b and 358y (or the former Pharmacology and Toxicology 357). One of the following courses is highly recommended: Anatomy and Cell Biology 309 (formerly Biology 309), or Biology 338a plus the former 322a.
Notes:
- Students are advised to take Chemistry 210a/b or the former 226a/b, Pathology 240a and a statistics course or half-course (Biology 244a/b, Psychology 281, or Statistical Sciences 222a/b) before entering fourth year.
- Enrolment in this program is limited.
Fourth Year
Principal Courses
Pharmacology and Toxicology 462a/b, 463a/b, (formerly Pharmacology 462a/b, 463a/b), or the former Pharmacology and Toxicology 442a/b, 460a/b. Pharmacology and Toxicology 480E (formerly Pharmacology 480) (1.5 course equivalents) At least one half-course from Pharmacology and Toxicology 432a/b, 443a/b, (formerly Pharmacology 432a/b, 443a/b). To complete five principal courses, up to one and one-half senior courses in areas of biology or History of Science selected with the approval of the Department
