Admission Requirements
Principal Courses
Subsidiary Courses
Two courses (of which at least one full course must be from Arts and Humanities or Social Science)
* If Linear Algebra 040a/b is not taken in first year, it must be taken prior to the second term of second year with a minimum mark of at least 60%. † If Statistical Sciences 023a/b is not taken in first year, students should consult with an department counsellor in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences prior to entering second year.
Second Year
Principal Courses
Subsidiary Course
** Students may postpone until third year one half course: either Mathematics 200a/b (or the former Mathematics 203b) or whichever of Actuarial Science 221a/b and 225a/b is selected. The postponed half course would be considered an additional third year principal course in such a case.
Third and Fourth Years
Principal Courses
Each of the above courses will be considered as a principal course in the year that it is taken. At least 3.0 principal courses must be taken in each of the third and fourth years.
Subsidiary Courses
Three other full course equivalents, to bring the total number of courses taken in each year up to five courses.
Note: To satisfy prerequisite requirements, the above courses must be taken in an appropriate order. Students should consult both the Departments of Mathematics and Statistical and Actuarial Sciences before registering.
