The first year program in the social sciences is intended to lead to programs offered by departments within the Faculty of Social Science. However, it also affords admission to programs in the faculties of Arts and Humanities or the Faculty of Science provided that the prerequisites for upper year courses are satisfactorily met. Similarly, students who have successfully completed a first year program in Arts or in Science are eligible to enrol in social science programs in subsequent years.
