Admission Requirements
First year program, with VAS 020 or the former Visual Arts 020, and VAH 040 or the former Visual Arts 040, and three courses from outside the Department, one of which must be from the Faculties of Science or Social Science, with no more than one course from each subject. A mark of 75% must be achieved in VAS 020 or the former Visual Arts 020 and an average of 75% in Visual Arts Studio courses must be maintained for progression in the program.
Program
After the first year, the program consists of fifteen courses including a minimum of ten Honors Visual Arts courses and five options, of which three must be taken outside the Department. Two of the five options must be at the 200-, 300- or 400- level. The Honors Visual Arts courses must include: Two full-course equivalents from: VAS 200, 210, 220, 230, 250, 212a/b, 214a/b, 222a/b, 224a/b, 232a/b, 234a/b, 240, 246a/b, 252a/b, 254a/b, 256a/b, 258a/b One full-course equivalent from: VAS 274a/b, 275a/b One of: VAH 276E, 277E, 278E, 283E (to be taken in second year) One of: Classical Studies 251E, VAH 247E, 249E, 251E, 253E, 256E, 258E, 261E, 266E, 270E Two of: VAS 300, 310, 320, 330, 340, 350, 351a/b, 352a/b, 353a/b, 354a/b, 355a/b VAS 281F/G, VAS 381F/G VAS 430 (two course weight)
Note: Students registered in the program prior to September, 1998 may be able to complete the program under the earlier regulations. Please consult the Department.
