B. Biochemical and Environmental Engineering Option

*A student may substitute one full or two 0.5 technical electives from the list below for CBE 415. †Accelerated Master’s students can take a graduate course with special permission from the Department Chair. **Selection of the non-technical elective must be approved by the Department Counsellor to satisfy the CEAB requirements of subject matter that deals with central issues, methodologies, and thought processes of the humanities and social sciences.
Technical Electives: Biochemical and Environmental Engineering Option
A student in the Biochemical and Environmental Engineering Option may take two technical electives, and may also replace CBE 415 with two additional technical electives.
The technical electives associated with specific areas are
(a) Environmental: CBE 363a/b, CBE 403a/b, CBE 407a/b, CBE 463a/b, CBE 467a/b, CEE 405a/b
(b) Biomaterials: CBE 421a/b, CBE 423a/b
(c) Biotechnology: CBE 403a/b, CBE 421a/b, CBE 423a/b, CBE 424a/b
Additional technical electives in Biochemical and Environmental Engineering Option are
CBE 321a/b, CBE 392a/b, CBE 413a/b, CBE 417a/b, CBE 425a/b, CBE 426a/b, CBE 432a/b
Some technical electives may not be offered in a given academic year.
Special permission from the Department is needed to take courses from Science or Engineering not listed above.
