Admission Requirements
Note: Courses equivalent to the former Earth Sciences 020 are any two of Earth Sciences 081a/b, 083F/G, 281b, or the former Earth Sciences 082a/b, 085a/b.
Second Year
Note
The former Earth Sciences 280 is not acceptable for credit.
Third Year
Earth Sciences 320a/b, 321a, 322a Earth Sciences 314b, 323a/b, 451y Differential Equations 215a The former Physics 243b, or a 200-level Physics half course with approval of the Department Linear Algebra 040a/b One senior-level full-course equivalent option, to attain a total of five and one-half courses
The Area of Concentration will consist of the 6.0 senior-level Earth Science courses which are specified in second and third year, plus Calculus 280a/b and 281a/b. Note: Students with honors standing in second and third years of the program are eligible to enter fourth year Honors Geophysics. Honors standing in second and third years is attained with an average of at least 70% for all area of concentration courses, with no mark in any of them less than 60%.
