PHYSICAL ACTIVITY SKILLS AND COACHING COURSES
Kinesiology physical activity Skills and Coaching courses refer to Kinesiology quarter-courses 202-224q/r/s/t, 302-322q/r/s/t and the special topic (0.5) courses Kinesiology 228a/b, 229a/b, 323a/b, and 324a/b. Each of Kinesiology 202q/r/s/t-224q/r/s/t, 302q/r/s/t-322q/r/s/t is a quarter-course, 5 lecture/lab hours per week for a 6-week term. The 6-week term is designated with the suffix q, r, s, or t. A maximum of four Physical Activity quarter-courses (or equivalent) must be selected in each of second and third year. One quarter course per 6-week term, may be taken during any academic year. No more than twelve activity quarter courses (or equivalent) are allowed in any Kinesiology degree. Special permission will be required for any activity courses selected beyond the required maximum of eight 0.25 courses (or equivalent). - one aquatic activity
- one racquet activity course
- one individual-based activity
- one team-based activity
Some of these activity courses may require additional expense by the student. A maximum of one full or equivalent Dance course from the selection of Dance 275a/b, 276a/b, 277a/b may be combined with or replace Physical Activity Skill or Coaching courses. For example: Dance 275a (Sept. to Dec.) and Kinesiology 205s + 305t (Jan. to April).
