*A student may substitute one full or two 0.5 technical electives from the list below for CBE 415.
†Accelerated Master’s students can take a graduate course with special permission from the Department Chair.
**Selection of the non-technical elective must be approved by the Department Counsellor to satisfy the CEAB requirements of subject matter that deals with central issues, methodologies, and thought processes of the humanities and social sciences. An approved list can be found on the Engineering website.
Technical Electives: General Chemical Engineering Option
A student may take two technical electives and may also replace CBE 415 with two additional technical electives.
The technical electives associated with specific areas are:
(a) Advanced Chemical Engineering: CBE 363a/b, CBE 403a/b, CBE 404a/b, CBE 417a/b, CBE 425a/b, CBE 426a/b, CBE 432a/b, CBE 467a/b, CBE 471a/b, CBE 494a/b
(b) Nanotechnology: CBE 403a/b, CBE 421a/b, CBE 424a/b, CBE 426a/b
Additional technical electives in General Chemical Engineering Option are
CBE 407a/b, CBE 413a/b, CBE 423a/b, CBE 463a/b, CEE 361a/b, CEE 362a/b, CEE 405a/b, CEE 477a/b.
Some technical electives may not be offered in a given academic year.
Special permission from the Department is needed to take courses from Science or Engineering not listed above.
