Selection of the non-technical elective must be approved by the Department Counsellor to satisfy the CEAB requirements of subject matter that deals with central issues, methodologies, and thought processes of the humanities and social sciences. An approved list can be found on the Engineering website.

ECE 349a/b, ECE 429a/b, ECE 430a/b, ECE 431a/b, ECE 432a/b, ECE 433a/b, ECE 434a/b, ECE 436a/b, ECE 439a/b, ECE 445a/b, ECE 451a/b, ECE 455a/b, ECE 456a/b, ECE 457a/b, ECE 460a/b (the former ECE 360a/b), ECE 464a/b, ECE 468a/b, ECE 469a/b, ECE 470a/b, ECE 481a/b, ECE 489a/b, MME 452a/b, MME 473a/b, MME 482a/b, MME 487a/b. *Up to two MME half courses from the approved list may be used as technical electives. Some technical electives may not be offered in a given academic year. For students registered in a concurrent degree program in Computer Science up to two computer science half courses at the 300 level or higher may be used as technical electives.
