One half course from the series Psychology 240-279 or 340-379;

At least 3.5 but no more than 5.5 additional courses in Psychology above the 020-level


HONORS PROGRAM
Admission and Progression Requirements

Students may apply to enter the honors program after first, second, or third year if they have taken the courses indicated below. For admission and progression in the honors program students must have an overall average of at least 70% with no mark less than 60% in their principal courses, an overall average of at least 60% with no mark less than 50% in their subsidiary courses, and an overall average of at least 70% in all courses. Principal courses will consist of four courses numbered 001-099 (including Psychology 020 and all mathematics and statistics courses numbered 001-099). As well, all additional psychology courses completed irrespective of whetehr or not they are program requirements will be treated as principal courses. All courses that are not principal courses are subsidiary courses. Admission to this limited enrolment honors program is competitive and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.

First Year

Psychology 020

Mathematics 028a/b

Statistical Sciences 024a/b

3 additional first year courses

Note: Students with an alternate full course equivalent in first year

mathematics will be considered for the second year of the program but must complete Mathematics 028a/b and Statistical Sciences 024a/b or their equivalent before admission to third year.


Second Year

Psychology 284F/G or the former 284a/b

2.5 additional courses in Psychology at the 200 level

2 additional courses


Third Year

Psychology 393F/G or the former 294F/G

1.5 additional courses in Psychology at the 300 level

2 additional courses

Note: Students with credit for the former Psychology 294F/G must take an additional half-course in psychology at the 300 level so as to have a total of three courses in Psychology at the 300-level in year three.


Fourth Year

Psychology 491E

2 additional courses in Psychology at the 300 or 400 level

2 additional courses


Additional Requirements

During their second or third year students are required to take at least one half-course in Psychology from the 200-239 or 300-339 series other than the former 305F/G and 310F/G.

A total of 9 and no more than 11 full-course equivalents in Psychology in addition to Psychology 020 must be taken in order to complete the BA in Honors Psychology program.

Students must successfully complete at least one half course in the Arts and one half course in Social Work or in a Social Science subject other than Psychology.
