Admission Requirements
All students must consult the Chemistry Department prior to admission to this program. Courses offered by the Department usually follow a sequential form and often require some background in Mathematics and Physics. For these reasons, many senior courses have definite prerequisites and corequisites. Students are advised to study these carefully. To fulfil, in part, the requirements for a BSc in this program, students must complete a minimum of five and one-half senior courses in Chemistry, which must include Chemistry 271a, 273a, 274a, 281G, 283G, 284b, 272F, 372F/G, and three of Chemistry 300F/G, 320a/b, 330F/G, 364a/b, 371F, 373F, 374a/b, 391a/b, 393a/b; (or the former Chemistry 251, 253, 254, 322, two of the former 321b, 323a, 324a, 378b, plus one additional half course in Chemistry numbered 200 or above).
Second Year
Note: Applied Mathematics 290a or the former Applied Mathematics 281a is required for those students who want to maintain the option of entering the 4-year honors degree program after the second year.
Third Year
Chemistry 272F and 372F/G, or the former Chemistry 322 Two of: Chemistry 300F/G, 371F, 373F, 374a/b, and one of: Chemistry 300F/G, 320a/b, 330F/G, 364a/b, 391a/b, 393a/b; (or the former Chemistry 321b, 323a, 324a, and 378b, plus one additional half course in Chemistry numbered 200 or above, but not including the former Chemistry 390a). A number of options elected to attain a total of five courses
The Area of Concentration will consist of the 5.5 senior-level Chemistry courses which are specified in second and third year
