A mark of at least 60% in one of English 020E, 022E, or 024E. Students should consult with the Department prior to admission.

After first year, students must complete 5.0 full-course equivalents in English, as follows:
English 232E
One of English 138E, 160E, or 274E /374E
One full course equivalent from English 133E, 171F/G, 172F/G, 209E. English 133E is recommended for teaching Primary to Intermediate grades and English 209E for Intermediate to Senior levels.
2.0 additional English essay full-course equivalents at the 100 or 200 level. Students may include Writing 101F/G in this category, and are strongly recommended to do so.
