| An Honors program in French may be completed in Honors French Language and Literature or Honors French Linguistics and Literature. Students may move from one program to the other if prerequisite courses have been completed. Admission Requirements (Both Programs)
 First year program in Arts, Science or Social Science, with  French 020E, or  021 and two other courses as principal courses. A 70% average in these principal courses is required with no grade less than 60%. Honors French Language and Literature

 Completion of at least  French 271 and  290E required for progression into third year. Program
 After the second year the program consists of the equivalent of eight courses in the Department and a minimum of two options normally, but not necessarily, taken outside the Department. Other French courses not listed below may be taken as options. The required courses are distributed as follows: * Only students at Huron University College may substitute French 474a/b for this requirement. The program also requires the completion of: at least three of French 342F/G, 362F/G, 372F/G, 382F/Gat least one of French 302F/G, 392F/G
 at least two of French 312F/G **, French 322F/G, 332F/G

 a minimum of one full-course equivalent selected from French 401F/G, 402F/G, 404F/G, 406F/G, 408F/G, 410E, 411a/b, 412F/G, 432a/b, 473a/b, 475a/b, 476a/b, 477a/b, 478a/b, 479a/b, 498F/G to make a minimum total of eight full-course equivalents in Honors French Language and Literature. Only students registered at Huron University College may also select French 409E, 415a/b, 416a/b, 474a/b. Only students registered at King's College may also select French 400F/G, 450F/G, 451F/G.
 Note: Students in French may take their third year at Laval or Nice with the permission of the Department of French. Students in combined programs need the consent of both departments. Some scholarships are available.
