SCIENCE: PROGRAMS OF STUDY
The Faculty of Science offers modules which lead to the following degrees:
Honors Bachelor of Science (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses. Honors Bachelor of Arts (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses. Bachelor of Science (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses. Bachelor of Arts (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses. Bachelor of Science (Three-Year) 15.0 required courses. Bachelor of Arts (Three-Year) 15.0 required courses.
The Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry offer joint programs which lead to the following degrees:
Honors Bachelor of Medical Science (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses. Bachelor of Medical Science (Four-Year) 20.0 required courses.
All the above degrees, whether Three-Year or Four-Year, contain a "breadth requirement" and an "essay requirement."
Breadth Requirement:
In addition to the Faculty of Science courses required for the modules, students must include at least 1.0 course from the Faculty of Arts and 1.0 course from a third Faculty in their degrees.

Note: A number of Science courses have essay designations.
All Bachelor of Science degrees, whether Four-Year (Including Honors) or Three-Year, require that a minimum number of Science courses be included in the degree.
Honors Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science (Four-Year) degrees require a minimum of 11.0 courses from the Faculty of Science within the 20.0 courses required for the degree. Bachelor of Science (Three-Year) degrees require a minimum of 8.0 courses from the Faculty of Science within the 15.0 courses required for the degree. Honors Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Four-Year) degrees also require a minimum of 11.0 courses from the Faculty of Science. Note: The following courses will be accepted in place of Science courses in the above degrees; (If any of these courses is taken as a Science Substitute, it may not also be used by Science students to meet the breadth requirement of any degree.) Honors Bachelor Degree:
This degree must contain either an Honors Specialization module or two Major modules (Double Major).
Bachelor Degree (Four-Year):
This degree must contain either a Specialization module or a Major module. - A Specialization module may be combined with a Major module, or a Minor module, or options.
- A Major module may be combined with another Major module, or a Minor module, or options.
Bachelor Degree (Three-Year):
This degree must contain either a Major module or two Minor modules. - A Major module may be combined with a Minor module, or options.
Specific course requirements are described in the appropriate departmental entries. Except in those cases where it is stated in the program description, most programs in the Faculty of Science do not normally have limited enrolments. However, should a case arise in which the number of applicants for a particular program exceeds the number of available spaces, entry into that program would be competitive, and students who meet the usual minimum requirements might be refused admission.
