Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses: Physics 020 or 024 or 026; Calculus 050a/b and 051a/b (or 081a/b) or Applied Mathematics 026; plus 1.0 additional course, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

0.5 to 1.0 course from: Earth Sciences 022a/b, 023a/b, 081a/b, 083F/G, or the former Earth Sciences 020. If taken in first year, the course(s) will count as a principal course(s). Earth Sciences 281b may be substituted if Earth Sciences 022a/b, 023a/b, 081a/b, or the former Earth Sciences 020 is not taken in first year.

Computer Science 025a/b or 026a/b is recommended.

0.5 course: Astronomy 201a/b
0.5 course: Physics 203a/b
1.0 course: Earth Sciences 230b; 123a/b (if Earth Sciences 023a/b has not been taken), or a 200-level Earth Sciences half-course with permission of the department (if Earth Sciences 023a/b has been taken).
1.5 courses: Planetary Science 380a/b, 490
