Clothing, Textiles and Design 020a/b, Introductory Clothing
Description: An intense theoretical and practical treatment of pattern alterations and basic dress-making techniques. Emphasis on design, fabric and the principles of technique necessary to produce a well-fitted, professionally constructed garment.
4 lecture/laboratory hours, 0.5 course.
May not be used as credit for Clothing, Textiles and Design or Family Studies degree programs.

Description: A broad introduction to the design of clothing and shelter as defined by physical need, social/psychological factors, technology and commercial concerns. This course is intended for (but not restricted to) students registered in the Clothing, Textiles and Design program.

Description: Exploration of the functional design process with emphasis on the inter-relationship of design, production and materials. Includes evaluation of production techniques, quality assurance and cost analysis as well as CAD use in design. Men's, women's and children's wear sectors are considered.

Description: Application of business principles to apparel and textile products and services.
