ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO FIRST YEAR
- Six OAC or Grade 12U or M-level credits which must include:
- Grade 12U or M-level English or OAC English
- Grade 12U or M-level Biology or OAC Biology.
The following courses are recommended but not required: - Grade 12U or M-level Math or OAC or OSSD Grade 12 Advanced-level Math
- Grade 11 or 12U or M-level Physics or OAC or OSSD Grade 12 Advanced level Physics.
Some of the first year Science courses that students will select in preparation for second year of the Honors Specialization in Kinesiology - BSc may require Grade 12 U Advanced Functions and Introductory Calculus (MC B4U) or OAC Calculus and Grade 12 U Geometry & Discrete Mathematics (MG A4U) or OAC Algebra and Geometry. In addition to the required Biology course as stated above, a high school background comprising a cross-section of Science courses such as Chemistry, Physics and Math will provide a stronger academic background in preparation for senior Kinesiology subjects in biomechanics and exercise physiology. It is strongly recommended that students who wish to pursue the Honors Specialization in Kinesiology - BSc and those students in Kinesiology wishing to select Additional Science Modules from the Faculty of Science, have a very strong science background from high school. Refer to the UWO science courses for specific high school prerequisites.
