Students who have obtained at least 60% in Film Studies 020E, with a 70% average in their principal courses and no failures will be admitted to the program.
Students with an average of 65-69% in their principal courses may be admitted to the program with the permission of the Department. Counselling is mandatory for students with an average between 65-69% and is strongly recommended for all other students.
For an Honors Degree in Film Studies, students must have 20 full-course equivalents; after Film Studies 020E, nine of these must be senior Film Studies courses. No more than one full-course equivalent at the 100 level may be counted towards the degree.
In second year, students are strongly advised to take Film Studies 200F/G, 251E, 253E, and 258F/G. The following courses should not be taken until third or fourth year: Film Studies 370F/G, 371F/G and 372F/G. Senior seminar courses Film Studies 474F/G, 490F/G, and the undergraduate thesis option 409E may not be taken until fourth year.
Students who do not achieve a 70% average, with no mark less than 60% in their principal courses at the end of the third year, may be admitted to fourth year of the Honors Program only by permission of the Department of English.
