Students must achieve at least 60% in English 020E, 022E, 024E, 025E, or 026E, and must consult with the Department prior to admission. After English 020E, 022E, 024E, 025E, or 026E, students must complete five English full-course equivalents including:

Literary Theory: English 215a/b(taken in second year)

Poetry and Prose: English 204F/G(taken in second year)

One full-course equivalent form the courses listed in Groups A, B, or the following from Group E: English 259E, 260F/G, 261F/G, 262F/G, 263F/G. English 232Eis also accepted.

One full-course equivalent from courses listed in Groups C and D

Two additional English full-course equivalents: both courses must be essay courses and at least one full-course equivalent must be at the Honors English level .

Note: Students registered in the program prior to September 1997 should consult the Department.
